Transparency and Predictability in Small Business Opportunities Act
The bill improves transparency and directs OSDBU support to help small businesses when solicitations are cancelled, but it adds administrative burdens and — because it lacks (and even prohibits) implementation funding — risks inconsistent help and limited real-world impact.
NOPE Act
The bill tightens and clarifies sanctions tools to cut Iranian energy revenue and improve oversight while preserving humanitarian flows, but does so at the expense of increased costs and operational disruption for U.S. firms, possible hardship for some immigrants, and added burdens or reduced flexibility for federal agencies.
POINT Act
The bill strengthens state and voter protections against improper federal interference in elections by creating expedited legal remedies and criminal exposure for certain federal actions, but it also raises significant risks of litigation-driven delays to emergency federal responses, separation-of-powers conflicts, increased federal costs, and potential chilling of official speech.
SBIR Administrative Funding Act
The bill expands and stabilizes SBIR/STTR support for small businesses and outreach to underrepresented states by reallocating a modest share of major agencies' program funds to the SBA, trading off reduced direct resources and tighter budgeting flexibility for those agencies in order to boost small-business access and program administration.
To amend title 49, United States Code, to require each new electric and hybrid vehicle to be equipped with technology that allows the timely extinguishment of an electric vehicle battery fire, and for other purposes.
The bill improves safety for new electric/hybrid vehicles and gives first responders clearer, standardized guidance and actionable recommendations, but it raises manufacturer compliance costs (likely increasing new-vehicle prices), may delay model availability, uses federal resources for studies and rulemaking, and does not require retrofits for existing vehicles.
Bridges not Bumpers Act of 2025
The bill aims to reduce costly and dangerous bridge/tunnel strikes by improving clearance data, training, and planning, but it shifts some costs to taxpayers and state/local agencies, creates compliance burdens for small rental businesses, and limits legal liability for data users — trading broader coverage and safety gains against fiscal, administrative, and legal risks.
Recognizing stroke as a national health crisis requiring immediate, coordinated Federal action, and for other purposes.
