Postpartum Lifeline Act

Requires that Medicaid and CHIP cover full pregnancy-related services during pregnancy and for 12 months after the end of pregnancy. States must include this postpartum coverage in their Medicaid and CHIP plans; the amendment to the Social Security Act makes the coverage mandatory rather than optional, with limited timing exceptions for states that need to pass state law to comply.
