Referred to the Committee on Education and Workforce, and in addition to the Committee on the Judiciary, for a period to be subsequently determined by the Speaker, in each case for consideration of such provisions as fall within the jurisdiction of the committee concerned.
This bill would turn an existing executive order about college sports revenue and athlete pay into federal law. In short, it says the executive order on college sports revenue and athlete compensation (Executive Order 14322) must be treated as law, not just an order from the President.
What this means for people and schools: the rules set in that executive order would become permanent unless changed by Congress later. Colleges, student-athletes, and sports programs would need to follow those rules once the bill takes effect.
