Introduced on January 9, 2025 by Mark B. Messmer
This measure would cancel a Department of Energy rule that set tougher energy-saving standards for commercial water heating equipment. The original rule was meant to save more energy by requiring stricter standards, and it was submitted on October 6, 2023, under the Energy Policy and Conservation Act .
If this measure becomes law, those tougher standards would not go into effect, and the prior standards would remain instead .
