Read twice and referred to the Committee on Environment and Public Works.
This measure would overturn an Environmental Protection Agency rule about pollution limits for coke ovens. It uses a process that lets Congress block a federal agency’s rule. The targeted rule deals with national emission standards for hazardous air pollutants from coke ovens, including pushing, quenching, and battery stacks, and reviews of the technology used over time .
If this resolution becomes law, the EPA’s rule would not take effect. That would mean the newer pollution limits and reviews set out in that rule would be stopped .
