This measure sets the rules for the House to debate and vote on four separate bills. It does not change any laws by itself. Instead, it clears the way for the House to consider bills that would: stop noncitizens from voting in local elections in Washington, DC and undo a DC law that allowed it; require DC to follow federal immigration laws; let DC police unions bargain over discipline rules again and bring back a time limit for filing discipline cases; and change how fentanyl-like drugs are listed under federal drug law .
What this means for everyday people right now: nothing changes yet. These ideas still need to pass on their own to become law. This measure simply schedules how the House will debate and vote on them .
