Recognizes colorectal cancer as a serious, sometimes deadly disease, highlights racial disparities affecting Hispanic people, and supports observing National Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month in March. It urges public education about screening (including recommendations to begin routine screening at age 45), asks the CDC and NIH to study causes of disparities and ways to reduce them, and honors patients, survivors, caregivers, and advocates.
