Expresses the House's view that U.S. biomedical research is a national asset that should be protected, strengthened, and expanded. It applauds past federal support for research, documents recent actions said to have harmed research capacity, and urges robust federal backing—especially for the National Institutes of Health—including evidence-based decision making, freedom from political interference, and a goal to double federal biomedical research investment over the next decade.
