Read twice and referred to the Committee on Finance.
This bill would undo recent changes to Medicaid cost sharing rules and to how “orphan drugs” (medicines for rare diseases) are treated in Medicare’s drug price negotiation program. It would put the old rules back in place, as if the recent changes never happened, and pull back money that had been set aside to carry out those changes .
In practice, this means Medicaid copays and other out-of-pocket rules would return to what they were before, and the treatment of orphan drugs in Medicare’s negotiation program would also go back to the earlier approach .
