Introduced on January 6, 2025 by Eric Burlison
Referred to the Committee on Rules, and in addition to the Committee on the Judiciary, for a period to be subsequently determined by the Speaker, in each case for consideration of such provisions as fall within the jurisdiction of the committee concerned.
This resolution formally cancels several subpoenas that the House Select Committee investigating the January 6 attack issued in 2021 and 2022 to Steve Bannon, Mark Meadows, Peter Navarro, and Dan Scavino . It also withdraws and ends earlier House actions that sought to hold these four men in contempt of Congress for not complying with those subpoenas . In short, it undoes those specific subpoenas and the related contempt recommendations, closing out those House matters . The immediate impact is on the four named individuals and on the status of the House’s records and referrals tied to those subpoenas . It does not create new programs or duties for federal agencies . The measure appears intended to formally reverse those prior House actions and make clear they are no longer in effect .
