This proposal changes federal job discrimination law. It says employers cannot punish a worker for expressing views that describe or support the binary or biological nature of sex. This includes speech, writing, images, owning or using items with such messages, and the use of pronouns. It also protects workers who ask for or use single-sex bathrooms or changing rooms. Employers cannot defend these actions by saying they are “job related” or a “business necessity.” The bill also adds a section on banning retaliation tied to these protections.
