Referred to the Committee on Energy and Commerce, and in addition to the Committees on Science, Space, and Technology, Armed Services, Foreign Affairs, Financial Services, and Education and Workforce, for a period to be subsequently determined by the Speaker, in each case for consideration of such provisions as fall within the jurisdiction of the committee concerned.
This bill would make four recent executive orders on nuclear energy into law. It locks in changes to how the government tests nuclear reactors, speeds up the use of advanced reactors for national security, reforms the Nuclear Regulatory Commission, and supports rebuilding the U.S. nuclear industry. By turning these orders into law, it aims to give them staying power and make it harder for future administrations to undo them.
