Requires U.S. Customs and Border Protection to run a two-year pilot program, to be implemented within two years of enactment, that tests an artificial intelligence anomaly detection algorithm at land ports of entry along the Arizona border to assist screening, inspection, interdiction, and processing of illicit drugs and contraband. The pilot must collect specified operational data, comply with DHS cybersecurity requirements, coordinate with federal partners and private-sector participants, and produce regular and final reports to Congress with metrics and recommendations on expansion and cost-effectiveness. The pilot itself is set to terminate two years after enactment; the bill sets reporting timelines (first report 180 days after implementation and biannual updates) and requires a final report within 60 days after termination. It defines “anomaly detection” and adopts the statutory definition of “artificial intelligence” from existing federal law for consistency.
