Referred to the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform.
This bill says the top leaders of two public safety agencies in Washington, DC must live in DC. It applies to the Director of the Court Services and Offender Supervision Agency and the Director of the Pretrial Services Agency. The rule starts for people picked for these jobs after the bill becomes law.
The goal is to make sure the people running these agencies are part of the community they serve, by requiring them to be DC residents.
