This bill would let federal grants be used to create and grow public service announcement (PSA) campaigns that help prevent youth substance use. The campaigns must use research-based, age-appropriate materials and can run on TV, radio, print, outdoor ads, and digital platforms. It can also include PSA contests that invite youth to submit their own messages .
It also requires the Attorney General to publish a yearly report on these PSA grants. The report must describe each grant and campaign, the research behind it, any region-specific messages, how it supports the grantee’s larger prevention plan, and how well it worked, such as whether it helped reduce youth drug use .
