Requires the national 988 suicide prevention line to provide a dedicated interactive-voice-response (IVR) "Press 3" option and maintain specialized services that support LGBTQ+ youth. It also directs the Department of Health and Human Services to reserve at least 9% of funds appropriated under the relevant program each fiscal year to carry out this requirement.
Also includes findings noting higher suicide risk among LGBTQ+ youth, usage data for specialized LGBTQ+ services on 988 through May 2025, and that Specialized Services staff receive training on LGBTQ+ needs. The change creates a steady funding set-aside and an operational requirement for the 988 Lifeline to ensure accessible, tailored support for LGBTQ+ young people calling for help.
