This bill renews and expands the U.S.–Israel energy cooperation programs that fund joint research and projects. It aims to tackle shared energy challenges and help move clean energy ideas from the lab to the market, boosting competitiveness, job growth, and innovative companies.
It raises the annual funding caps and extends the programs through fiscal years 2026–2031: up to $5 million a year for cooperative research and up to $7 million a year for the U.S.–Israel Energy Center. It also adds new focus areas, including hydrogen, fusion, industrial decarbonization, carbon management, agrivoltaics, grid modernization, and cybersecurity for energy infrastructure.
