This bill makes it easier for older, working adults with disabilities to keep affordable health coverage. Today, states may let people with disabilities ages 16–64 “buy in” to Medicaid if they work and their income is too high for regular Medicaid. The bill removes the upper age limit so people 65 and older can also buy in where states offer this option. It also gives states time to update their programs, without penalties, until January 1, 2027.
