Creates a Veteran Family Resource Program inside the VA to connect veterans and their families to VA and community services, and to address social factors that affect health (like housing, food, and transportation). The VA must place family coordinators across its regional networks within five years, set goals and metrics, and report progress to Congress two years after the program starts.
The VA must also survey disabled veterans and their families within one year to understand their needs, including the support and unmet needs of their children, and repeat the survey at least every five years as appropriate. Any program or activity funded under this Act must follow federal nondiscrimination laws (e.g., Title VI, Title IX, ADA, Section 504, Age Discrimination Act).
