Improving Training for School Food Service Workers Act of 2025

This bill makes school food service training easier to access and fairer for workers. It says training should happen during regular paid work hours, be free for workers, include hands-on learning, and be offered in person when that makes sense . It applies to training provided under current law by the U.S. Department of Agriculture for local school food service staff .

If training must be held outside normal hours, workers must be told why, asked about the best time, paid their regular rate (including any overtime), and not punished if they can’t attend then . The bill also says it doesn’t change any other worker–employer laws already in place .
