Taxpayer Experience Improvement Act
The bill trades substantially increased transparency, convenience, and electronic access to IRS services for taxpayers (and tools for preparers) against elevated privacy/security risks, implementation and ongoing costs, and potential inequities for those without reliable online access.
To amend the Public Health Service Act to update quality standards for mammography facilities for the use of AI systems, and for other purposes.
To amend the Internal Revenue Code of 1986 to designate copper as an applicable critical mineral and to include ore extraction costs for purposes of the advanced manufacturing production credit.
The bill strengthens incentives for domestic copper and critical-mineral production—supporting jobs and supply-chain resilience—but does so at the cost of reduced federal revenue, potential favoritism toward mining firms, and added compliance and trade complications.
Taxpayer Workforce Modernization Act
The bill builds IRS analytic capacity and workforce skills to improve tax compliance and recover revenue, but increases enforcement activity, personnel costs, and risks to privacy and equitable treatment unless accompanied by strong oversight, transparency, and model governance.
Combating Deceptive Practices in Assistance Programs Act of 2026
The bill creates a federal standard for Medicaid personal care services that could improve access and consistency across states, but it risks changing who is covered and could raise administrative or program costs for states and taxpayers.
AIMS Act of 2025
To amend the Colorado River Basin Project Act to provide for the equitable distribution of Colorado River water for the lower basin States, and for other purposes.
The bill trades clearer, federally coordinated, pro‑rata allocation (which protects some newer users and reduces interjurisdictional uncertainty) for greater immediate economic pain for some water users, reduced state/local flexibility, and heightened litigation risk.
Postal Contracting Financial Accountability Act
The bill lets eligible contractor-run postal units keep operating after Postal Service termination decisions—preserving service continuity and familiar contract terms—but leaves contractors and communities financially exposed because payment is generally not required and continuation is limited, creating uncertainty and potential disputes.
Critical Mineral Brine Extraction Research and Development Act
The bill makes a modest, multi-year federal investment to bolster domestic critical-mineral R&D and commercialization—potentially improving supply-chain security and lowering costs—but carries the risk of limited economic returns and added administrative complexity for a relatively small total outlay.
Scam Farms Marque and Reprisal Authorization Act of 2025
The bill gives the U.S. more flexible tools to disrupt transnational cybercriminal enterprises quickly—potentially protecting commerce and victims—but does so by authorizing private armed action and broad authorities that pose substantial civil‑liberty, safety, diplomatic, and fiscal risks.
