Speeds up small maintenance on public grazing lands by letting permit and lease holders do minor range repairs and water improvements after simple notice to the local federal office. If the agency doesn’t reply within 30 days, the work can go ahead.
It also puts a 30‑day clock on agency responses when ranchers ask the agency to do the work. Both the Department of Agriculture (Forest Service lands) and the Department of the Interior (BLM lands) must issue rules within one year to set clear definitions, notice steps, and fast-track tools to complete approved work.
