Referred to the Committee on Ways and Means, and in addition to the Committee on Energy and Commerce, for a period to be subsequently determined by the Speaker, in each case for consideration of such provisions as fall within the jurisdiction of the committee concerned.
This proposal would give nursing home residents the right to choose at least one person who can visit them at any time. Facilities that take Medicare or Medicaid would have to allow “immediate access” for that chosen visitor, without extra limits or rules set by the facility. The resident can say no or change their mind about the visitor at any time.
