Referred to the House Committee on Ways and Means.
Changes the federal tax code to alter the cap on how much state and local taxes (SALT) individuals can deduct on their federal returns. It revises the wording in the Internal Revenue Code that sets this limit.
Applies starting with tax years that begin after December 31, 2024. Depending on the new cap, some taxpayers—especially those who itemize and live in higher‑tax areas—could see their federal tax bills go up or down.
