Adds explicit authority for deployment of real-time transcription and translation technology in public transit to improve access for riders who are deaf, hard of hearing, or have limited English proficiency, and authorizes dedicated federal funding to support those projects for fiscal years 2027–2031. The amendments make a small technical edit to existing statutory text and add a new grant-eligible category, then specify funding amounts (listed in the bill) to be made available to carry out those projects.
