This bill would stop the federal government from putting import taxes on common baby hygiene items like diapers, wipes, soap, shampoo, diaper cream, diaper bags, changing tables, baby bathtubs, and towels. It also tells the government to remove any current import taxes on these items that were put in place using emergency powers, and says similar “workaround” taxes can’t be used either. The goal is to keep these baby care products cheaper for families by blocking these specific import taxes.
