This bill keeps federal tick and other vector-borne disease programs going. It continues a national strategy and regional research centers to prevent and control these diseases. It also keeps helping state and local health departments respond to tick-borne illnesses in their communities. The plan sets funding for the research centers at $8 million each year from 2026 through 2030, and continues funding to assist health departments during those same years .
These steps aim to improve tracking, testing, and prevention, so fewer people get sick from ticks and other biting pests. Communities could see better public health guidance, faster responses to outbreaks, and stronger partnerships with universities and labs .
