This bill would ban “natural asset companies” from making any agreements about land in Utah, or about natural assets on or in that land. A “natural asset company” is defined as a corporation (or similar group) that holds rights to the ecological performance of a specific area and can manage that area for conservation, restoration, or sustainable use .
In short, it blocks these companies from striking deals tied to Utah’s land or its natural features, like ecosystems, resources, or other environmental assets .
