Adds a new definition of “fall prevention items” to the Social Security Act and changes how Medicare pays for them. The text lists examples (grab bars, non-slip mats, shower chairs, bed rails), allows the Secretary to add other items, and makes Medicare payments for these items exempt from sequestration. The Medicare payment rule changes in the amendments take effect 60 days after enactment.
