Sea Turtle Rescue Assistance and Rehabilitation Act of 2025

This bill creates a dedicated grant program to rescue and care for sea turtles. It adds sea turtles to an existing federal wildlife rescue grant program and sets up a separate track just for them, in place for seven years after the bill becomes law. It also creates a Sea Turtle Rescue, Rehabilitation, and Rapid Response Fund to provide emergency help when turtles are in danger.

• Who is affected: Licensed sea turtle rescue groups, aquariums, and research teams that have the required federal permits and follow care and data rules, such as the Sea Turtle Stranding and Salvage Network.
• What changes: Grants can pay for rescuing and treating sick, injured, or entangled sea turtles; responding to strandings; collecting data and samples for research and health checks; running facilities that care for turtles; and building rescue networks in areas that lack them.
• When: The program runs for seven years after enactment, and funding depends on money approved by Congress.
