This bill makes the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) share more information with Congress and the public. The head of DOGE must report who works at the department and who in the White House advises on it, and say for each person whether they had a background check, have a security clearance, and have any conflicts of interest and how those are handled. The head of DOGE must also brief Congress in closed meetings about what the department is doing and plans to do, including what government computer systems its staff can access and what kinds of personal data those systems hold.
DOGE must run a public website that lists its employees and their roles and gives weekly updates on federal layoffs and administrative leave, programs with funding cuts (with amounts), paused programs (with timelines), eliminated programs, and who to contact with questions. The site must be updated at least once a week. By March 31, 2025, the head of DOGE must deliver the report, give the briefings, and operate the website. If they miss the deadline, money for DOGE (including funds that previously supported the U.S. Digital Service) can only be used for activities started before January 20, 2025, and DOGE “agency teams” cannot use federal funds until the department complies.
