No Anonymity in Immigration Enforcement Act of 2025

This bill would require ICE agents doing immigration enforcement to show who they are. Agents could not cover their faces during operations, and they would have to wear clothing that clearly shows their name and that they work for ICE. This applies to arrests, raids, questioning, detentions, and investigations, whether on public or private property.

There are narrow exceptions. Agents may use protective gear for safety or medical reasons, or cover their faces if there is an immediate threat to someone’s life or serious harm. If an agent uses an exception, a supervisor must review it within 48 hours and start discipline if it wasn’t appropriate. The Department of Homeland Security must set rules to enforce this, accept complaints through its civil rights office, and report each year on any discipline and complaints. The changes would start 30 days after the bill becomes law.
