Referred to the House Committee on Agriculture.
Introduced November 4, 2025 by Suzanne Bonamici · Last progress 4 months ago
Urges the administration to use the already‑appropriated SNAP contingency fund authority and available apportionments to continue paying Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits in November 2025. It records factual findings about SNAP reach in 2024, recent congressional set‑asides for the contingency fund, OMB apportionment and agency guidance, and notes that U.S. territories that receive Nutrition Assistance block grants face similar risks.
The resolution is a nonbinding "sense of the House": it does not itself allocate new funds or change law but calls on the executive branch to immediately exercise existing legal authority and available contingency funding to prevent benefit interruptions for households that rely on SNAP.
