Expresses the Senate’s deep sorrow at the death of former U.S. Senator John Bennett Johnston, Jr., honors his life and public service, and orders a further adjournment as a mark of respect. The resolution recites his birth and education, military service, family, state and federal legislative career, leadership on energy and natural resources issues, and conservation and historic preservation achievements (including preserving over 120,000 acres of Louisiana wetlands and helping establish two national historical parks). It directs the Secretary of the Senate to notify the House and to send an enrolled copy of the resolution to his family.
