Referred to the House Committee on the Judiciary.
This proposal would change the Constitution to say that only human beings (“natural persons”) have rights under it. In simple terms, constitutional rights would apply to people, not to corporations, unions, or other organizations .
If adopted, this would limit who can claim constitutional protections in court to actual people. Organizations would no longer be able to assert constitutional rights on their own; their powers and protections would have to come from regular laws instead of the Constitution .
